Rockets!
We had such a great day today learning about things that fly!
We started the day with our morning circle, saying good morning to all our friends and introducing a new song for the day. We sang "Zoom, Zoom, Zoom, We're Going to the Moon!" and we all loved it!
Outside play was a ton of fun, we played on the slide and in the sandbox, two of our constant favorites.
When we came inside we all came to our language circle and read our book "Zoom Zoom Zoom, I'm off to the moon!" by DanYaccarino about a little boy who flew in a rocket all the way to the moon! We practiced learning which things fly and which things don't. Things that fly usually have wings!
After Language Circle we went to science and guessed which would fly better, a round spaceship, or a rocket with wings. The spaceship didn't make it very far, but the rocket with wings flew all the way across the classroom!
After flying our rocket across the classroom we went to centers. We got to fly in our very own rocket! Each camper got a turn flying around the classroom in our rocket.
At art we got to make our own rocket. We put our picture on the rocket so we can travel on it all the way to the moon. We added wings to help it fly! Then we got to practice flying the rockets we made through the air.
We had such a great day at camp and all our ants have made so many friends. We can't wait to see you for our last day tomorrow. Remember to wear your camp t-shirts for our fun filled last day of camp!
