How do plants grow?

How do plants grow?!

It was an AWESOME day with our little ants!

Here is a look at all that we did today:
     BOOK OF THE DAY:
     Plants and Seeds

We did an AWESOME job sitting by ourselves today and using our listening ears while Miss Dallas read our story! We have come so far, so fast and our teachers are so proud!

Here is our song about planting seeds!

Today, we LOVED the slide.  We waiting for our turn while our other friends went down!

Language Circle!

Today during language circle we talked about what we need for our plant to grow, and what we do not need.

Our seed does not need rocks!
But, our seed does need sun!

Science!

Today for science, we took what we learned from language circle and put it to the test! We planted seeds of our own!

First, we had to decide what to plant our seeds in: rocks or soil?

Or will soil drink up
water for our seed?
Will rocks drink up
water for our seed?

Next, we made predictions of what we thought
 was better: soil or rocks!

Some of us thought rocks...

\

and some of us thought soil...
so we all made a choice and
added it to our board!

Here are our predictions!

Lastly we showed that the water was soaked up by the soil, but not the rocks! So we planted our seeds in SOIL!

We loved seeing the
water disappear in the soil!
We almost couldn't
 believe it was gone!

Art!

Today for art we made a hand print flower to show how pretty our seed can become if we give it what it needs!

We loved using our hands to make flowers and pipe cleaners to make some grass! It tickled so much!

We had a great week in the wild west and we can't wait for our SAFARI
next week!
