OUR BODY CENTERS!
Sensory Table - We will have a sensory table filled with rice and toys. This will allow kids to play with and touch the material with their hands and plastic scoops. Potato head pieces will be mixed in the rice to continue to familiarize the kids with the parts of the body.
Dolls - We will have a center with dolls and action figures (human body toys) for the kids to free play with their imagination. This will allow the kids to point or label body parts while hearing the words that match the part. There will also be a large face on the wall that the kids can add parts to like eyes, ears, nose and mouth.
Book Corner - This center will be in the "quiet corner" with an adults facilitating reading and looking at sensory/picture books. We will help the child recognize different words and pictures and practiced concepts learned throughout the week.
Kitchen - This center will have the child-sized kitchen for the kids to play at with their peers. They will work on turn taking and expressing things they want while playing.
Color Station - At this center there will be different colors of play-dough in a corresponding colored cup. The kids will play with the dough and then match it to the correct color. They can also make "faces" with the different colored play-dough.
